Transit Operations and Implementation Planning

Putting buses on the streets and trains on the tracks is the bread and butter of what transit providers do, and transit operations planning is CTG’s main area of expertise. We work with our clients to ferret out inefficiencies in services, identify the public’s current and changing needs, and prepare customized plans that balance productivity and accessibility.

Operating plans are usually for short-range and mid-range implementation timeframes, reflecting transit agencies’ more immediate planning needs. Typical efforts include:

  • Comprehensive Operations Analyses (COAs)
  • Transit Development Plans (TDPs)
  • Line-by-Line Analyses
  • Short-Range Transportation Plans (SRTPs)
  • Transit Feasibility Analyses
  • Definition and Evaluation of Alternatives
  • Transit Scheduling and Optimization
  • University Transit Plans
  • Park-and-Ride Studies
  • Passenger Ride-Checks and Surveys
  • Transfer Analyses
  • On-site Management and Support
